sat ii's

With the new SAT1, I believe we only need two SATIIs, right? I'm planning on applying to top-tier colleges (Stanford, Ivies, the like) so would it be better if we had more than two SATIIs? I did extremely well on MathIIC and I'm planning on taking Chemistry too, but should I take French SATIIs also? I'm doing pretty well in French, but looking at the practice tests, I feel pretty unprepared. However, would the three SATIIs be preferable to just two or would it not matter?

What do you mean when you say "we only need two SATIIs?" The New SAT I is required for most colleges, unless you are class of 2006 and you already took the old SAT I.

Also, take SAT IIs that fulfill the requirements and the ones that you are confident that you will score well on them (don't use the CC standards!!!). Otherwise you should be focusing on other aspects of your application.

You'll need three SATIIs for some Ivys and selective schools.

I meant that I'm taking the new SAT1 (class of 2007) and as I remember, you needed 3 SAT11s with the old SAT1, one of which had to be writing. So since writing is a part of the new SAT1, does that mean we only need two SAT11s?

No. For Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and others, you still need three SATIIs.
edit: or at least thats the deal for 06, maybe the rules will change for 07, but don't count on it.

That depends on which college you plan on attending.
