SAT IIs

im applying ED to a school that only requires 2 SAT IIs
I have taken 3,and did well on two of the three (a 750, and 740), but not so well on the third (a 640 on math IIc..yes even with the crazy curve), will the school (Cornell) look at all three scores or just the top two?

top two unless they asked for the math IIc specifically i think

Depends on the college in Cornell that you are applying to:

The reqs are here: <a href="http://admissions.cornell.edu/downloads/freshmen_reqs_timetable.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.cornell.edu/downloads/freshmen_reqs_timetable.pdf</a></p>

Since they see all three on the score report, just write down your top 2 on the application and don't worrying about something they're going to see anyway.

Just a side thought: as far as I know, most admissions processes consist of individuals looking over all your material and making a decision. sometimes the process calls for three people to look it over, but almost always as individuals and not as a committee. So despite whatever promises they make about their admissions criteria and policy for considering scores (and other stuff too like race or gender or anything that can affect bias), if a single adcom wants to hold another, lower SAT score against you, he can without much fear. If someone asks him about it, he can probably still defend his decision without admitting he "broke the rules." Of course, the same is possible in the other direction, like an adcom has a soft spot in his heart for kids on the golf team for instance, but it makes me wonder...anyone have any insight to add or am I just rambling to my comuter?

bottom line is that although some colleges (Amherst for example) adamantly say they don't consider SAT II's outside the highest 2, they are available for review if someone in admissions wanted to. I like mediocretes have a hard time believing that a poor SAT 2 buried on a transcript wouldn't be a differentiator if all other things were equal in judging between 2 candidates, BUT there is an argument out there that this type of inspection is not practicable & therefore unlikely. As I'm not an adcom, nor do I have any acquaintences who are, I have no way of knowing for sure how adcoms truly practice. Cross your fingers & hope for the best.
