SAT II's

Will the school have access to all of my SAT II's? Say I take Lit, French, and Am. Hist, but do badly on the Lit. I'm only required to have two (in addition to writing). Can I make sure they never see the Lit?

No. All SAT I and SAT II scores are sent to your college.

No, when you want colleeboard to send scores they send everything. :(

yeah...unfortunately (or fortunately..idk) they did away with score choice ~ 2 yrs ago.

The see all your scores, but only the highest count I believe...

what is considered a bad score for SAT 2s... (for Columbia)

they always say that it should be in the 700s

when do they say that?

so does that mean if your sat 2 scores are less than 700 your chances just drop like mad.. and columbia won't want you anymore cus of bad sat 2 scores?

no, not at all.

SAT IIs do count, so don't lid yourself, but they count much less than SAT I, grades, recs and essay(s).

It depends on what you got a low score in. Some SAT IIs are more essential than others.

A low, or somewhat low SAT II score means that you need to compensate for it through other means.

i got really low on my lit... and ok/low on my writing and 1c

and what if my school grades are excellent..? does that compensate?
and my sat score is 1350.. (not too good)

silver... I seriously think you and I are in the same boat, lol. Very similar SAT scores.

Hopefully we will be fine... :)

BTW, is English your first language?

well no.. korean is my mother tongue.

but in academic writing and reading im better at english because ive been taught in english most of my life..

Ok, well I am sure you will get some slack for not having english as your first language. Did you have to that the TOFEL?

no i didnt take the TOEFL ... im just going to do it later for immigration purposes..
i didnt take it cus columbia said to me that if i have over 600 on the verbal SAT i dont really need to.
and i got 670 so i thought i dont need to..

OH DAMN IT 690 in physics... which is 61% why???? just out of the 700 range
