I was wondering, how important is submitting the max number of SAT II scores (3) to JHU? I have two SAT II scores that I want to send... and my third (I will take it this Saturday) may be really low because I didn't prepare well for it...

Would my chances be lowered if I only submit two scores? They are Bio M & Math IIC... third will be US History if I do take it...

Hopkins “strongly recommends” that you send in three scores; that is tantamount to Hopkins “requires”. That said, I only sent in 2 and was accepted. Those scores were an 800 on US History and a 750 on Literature. I wrote my supplement on how I like history and wanted to write a book; I also had 5s on US History, World History, and Language to back it up. Be safe and have three SAT2s though. The only reason I didn’t have three is because I didn’t realize it was required until December - too late to sign up. Beast your third SAT 2 and send in 3 scores. A few other top schools also require three.

If you took an AP class that corresponds to a SAT II, I highly recommend you take that SAT II. I took AP Bio, Chem, and Calc BC (self study) and then took SAT II Bio M, Chem, and Math II and got a 790, 800, and 800 respectively without studying. I must say that if you actually go over all the information for the AP test and feel confident that you did well with the AP test, you’ll be more than prepared for the SAT II.

I self studied to get a 760. It isn’t that hard. I got tripped up on the Vietnam War and the 1600s which I found to boring to look over in the review book I was using. USH isn’t that bad of a test as long as you don’t get lazy. Also I did legit self study b/c I hadn’t taken any USH course during the school year

i took 2 sat 2’s and got in…730 on lit and 710 on math 1. basically, if you think you can get above a 700 then you should take it. don’t push yourself to take a third for the sake of taking 3.
