Hello everyone,
Everything is in the title, I would like to know how important are your SAT scores if you are an international student ? (English is my second language, French is my native language.)

For instance :
I took the SAT and only got 670 in math, 630 in CR & 600 in reading...is this going to enable me from accessing top colleges ? (ivy's .. & other excellent colleges). Knowing that my school grades are excellent,(rank 2/600 on my french baccalaur

I’d suggest you take it again I’m International too, got similar scores as you in English and I am taking it again, English is my first language and stuff but I havent taken the TOEFL and stuff so I definately need to give it again. GL.

Because of your international status, you will have to compete with other applicants in your country for entry into top colleges (such as the Ivies). Because of this, international students tend to have to achieve higher scores on the SAT than domestic students in the US. That SAT score is already EXTREMELY low even domestically for top colleges, so I doubt you’re going to get in with it (no offense). Buy a prep book if you can, practice a lot, and definitely retake the SAT. Your standardized test scores are very important in the admissions process, and it’s one of the first things that college admissions officers look at.
