My problem is that I have been studying French for 2 years now, but we had only 2 hours per week and I don't feel very confident about my knowledge. I'm currently about to start my senior year so I won't have enough time to learn it more. So my question is - can you major in Linguistics without taking SAT in any foreign language? Do you need to know well some language apart from english or do they teach you from the basics as you start the course? The only language I know apart from english is polish, but I guess it doesn't help. (?) I was thinking about taking SATII in Literature and Math II or in Literature and History, would it be okay?
I intend to major in Linguistics or Comparative Literature.
Please help.

For schools that you do not apply into a specific major or program, anything you take in high school would be irrelevant to your major. If you are applying into a specific major or program directly, then if may help if you take a related SAT2 or AP and score well in it. In most cases, taking SAT2 in Math2+Lit or Lit+History would be fine. Just pick the two subjects you can do best in the test.
