SAT in January?

Hey guys,

I'm applying to MIT as a regular decision candidate and I was wondering how much taking the SAT Physics in January would affect me. I have solid test scores otherwise including 2320 SAT and somewhat good (imo) ECs(Patent, Science competition finalist, Stanford Internship) and I've also taken the SAT 2 Math, on which I got 800. However,I haven't taken the SAT 2 Physics test yet and I'm planning to take it in January because that's when I think I would feel adequately prepared rather than December. Do you think taking the SAT Physics in January will adversely affect my chances at MIT?

Thanks in Advance

Of course not

Make sure the school(s) ok this testing date. They may not get it in time.

It’s fine to take January tests, as long as you list MIT as a score recipient at the time you take the tests.

The date on which you take your standardized tests has no bearing whatsoever on your application.

To piggyback onto the original question, how would taking the SAT I in January impact your application since you would need to have it sent before knowing your score on it and it may be that you don’t score higher than any of your past scores?
