I know that we all have a self-motivation to do well on the SAT for our futures, but do you have any materialistic incentives from parents, family or friends? My bro said he would buy a Panasonic PT-AE3000u projector if I got above the Brown University high end SAT score of 2310(fingers crossed). I have heard of peers that brag about a potential car for crossing the 2000 mark!

For me its a car. Btw what books are you using to study?

My parents said they would take me out to dinner for 2250+, so nothing big.

My parents say “good job”… guess that’s a bit of an incentive lol.

A car for a good SAT score? I MIGHT be able to understand if it was attending a top school. Anyways, nothing in it for me except getting away from home and receiving a good education.

@ santos1213: I just do a practice by test day and check it by night
@ 112358: lol i guess that’s some good incentive if the compliments are rare

The pride of a job well done…er, yeah I get nothing.

I get nothing.

It will make my parents proud. =D lol

Seriously? This idea is just plain pathetic.

YOU are the one who stands to gain the most from a good SAT. If you’re not self-motivated enough to study and get such a score without external incentives, you don’t deserve it.

I dont need incentives because I already know that my parents will buy me anything I want even if I dont score well (which is not possible)

I hope that’s sarcastic, because otherwise you’re a spoiled brat.

ouch…maybe CR7_ManUtd is really smart and deserves anything…well it still seems a little spoiled

Many materialistic incentives… but still no motivation since I have no need for materialistic things… :(

Well,I am a materialist :}

My parents complain when I ask them to pay the registration fee.

I am allowed to go on the College Confidential Forums and make fun of lesser scores in order to improve my self esteem.

I didn’t expect anything, but then my grandparents gave me $100 which was a very nice surprise!

Excellent reason.

My friend and I have a bet so I’ll get 20 dollars if I score higher than he does. That’s my motivation.
