So in March I got an 800 on writing with a 79 (-1) MC and 10 Essay. Supposedly this also got an 800 on the May test.

Is it common for minus one MC and a 10 essay to get an 800? Also, how many typically can you get wrong with a 12 essay to get an 800? And what is the difference between a 10 essay and a 12 essay?

My friend, who took the May test, got an 800 Writing with -1 MC and 10 essay. I think -1 MC with a 10 essay will get you 800/790. With a 12 essay, -1 and sometimes -2 is 800. The difference between many of the 10 and 12 essays that I have read is that the 12 essays better connect their examples to their thesis, demonstrating exactly how their examples are relevant.

I got an essay score of 8 (I didn’t even finish my essay, so I’m satisfied) and missed only one on the multiple choice and got a 740. Man, if I had only practiced writing essays before the test, I could’ve gotten an 800. Me sad. ;(

For writing I reviewed all the major grammar rules tested on the writing section with my review book. I also took 8 bluebook practice tests before my first SAT and another 1 for the second SAT.

Alright so my essay is being graded by hand since it was in ink and my score wont come out for like 3 more weeks. I got a 510 on writing with a zero on the essay when it was initially graded. i got a multiple choice score of 62. What do you guys think i will get in the section once they factor in my essay if i was to get an 8,9,10 on the essay.
