Sat Levels confusion...

hi my name is rushikesh .... actually i am confused with the levels the SAT examinations has
what does it differ between level 1 And level 2... please give me some suggestions..??

MC questions are sometimes ranked level 1 through level 5, with 5 being the hardest. But don’t let hard questions scare you!

Are you talking about Math Level 1 and Math Level 2?

If so, then Math Level 2 is a harder version of Math Level 1 with more topics (parametric equations, higher level trig, etc…)

Oh yeah, the subject tests. Basically, Math II is a bit harder with more pre-calc topics, but the scoring curve is nicer (i.e you can miss a few questions and still get 800).

Your post wasn’t really clear. Are you talking about SAT Reasoning vs. SAT Subject? If so, Reasoning (1) is the more general test that consists of reading, writing, and math, and the Subject tests (2) are specific to different topics like biology, chemistry, and math. See collegeboard.org and click on the tabs to get more information.

Hey shalooky you have made my confusion a bit clear. Thank you for that.
My another question is if i take SAT(2) then will it affect for my admission because i did not choose SAT(1)??

This technically depends on the school for which you apply. There are universities that are “SAT optional” here in the USA. These schools do not require the SAT or the SAT subjects (formerly known as SAT1 and SAT2 repectively).

Typically when an SAT is required, they are interested in the SAT (the general test). When applying more selective schools it is strongly suggested that SAT subjects are taken.

They have subject tests in Math (2 levels), in several foreign languages, in some sciences and in history, among other things…

Ok so accordingly is SAT(1) compulsory to give??

I mean… Are there going to be two exams SAT(1) and SAT(2)??

Sat 1 is a reasoning test comprising of 3 sections(math, critical reading, writing) and lasting 3.75h.
SAT 2 is the subject tests, lasting 1h each. U can take as many subject tests as u like, and they range from chemistry to math to literature to spanish etc.
Normally both are compulsary, depending on the school. SAT 1, however, can be replaced with the ACT

What is ACT?

What is critical reading?

@econsftw So these SAT(1) And SAT(2) both are for 2400 marks or individually?

The answers to these questions can easily be looked up online. The SAT Reasoning test is graded on a 2400 scale, while the subject tests are out of 800.

To clarify on MIT’s comments…

SAT 1 = Math (M), Critical Reading (CR) and Writing (W), each individually has a maximum score of 800.

SAT 2 = Subject tests in many areas. You can take up to three in one sitting and each has a maximun score of 800.

The official sites for the SAT and ACT will have all the info you need. Just do a simple search-we can only explain so much.
