SAT Listening Tests-- Rewinding??

Somewhere on the CB website where it explains the test format for the SAT Listening tests, I remember reading about how test-takers can hear the passage only once...

Can't you just rewind????

hey it's CDs now right?

Will you have time???

yep, you use CDs.

Time should not be a problem :). i just want to know if the proctors keep an eye on students to prohibit them from rewinding their CDs. Wait..... it's possible to rewind CDs right???

i think you won`t have time because i have heard that the german test is *100 (!!!) questions per 60 mins....... you have to be faster than Speedy Gonzales to complete them all.

Yeah, it's possible to rewind but I doubt we're allowed to. Not sure though.

Anyone taking the German With Listening on Saturday?:)

not me
Is the literature test hard? cosidering sitting it

oh well i'll only rewind when i really need to :). but the question is how will proctors react when they find out that students are rewinding their CDs...

the literature test looks soo hard. but I heard they reuse questions so I might consider taking it after prepping by browsing through old CC literature discussion threads :)...

ha! :) sounds good! i have the barrons book and it huge...... i`m a bit too lazy to study/read it all.... but it seems like a more manageable test since there are only 60 questions not fast and all the materail to get the answer is right in front of you..... and i like reading.... and if i bump into already used questions :P

PS the proctor won`t be happy to see you rewinding but if you do it with flair they will never notice... pretend you are just adjusting the volume or something.... be calm and relaxed and they will never even think you are trying to do something illegal :D

lol thank you for the tips on how to be sly! gd to you on the lit test! just remember--- the answers are already there fo you in the forums :p runs away fearing CB will mutilate me for spreading the information

:p lol ....... well i`m trying to help and i have seen that and i know that teachers would never suspect someone who is mean and confident enough to believe he is NOT doing something illegal :D many kids from my class did it.

looking for a torch and preparing to dive in the depths of CC

Lit test recycles all the questions?

There's no point in rewinding--you will lose time because the CD is paced to take 20 min and you have only 20 min to do that section.

I should have known this earlier. Then I could rewind! Because I guess you could always say you started a little later than everyone else...putting your earphones on, pressing play...is there any way that they can track down whether you rewinded or not?

Just out of curiosity, did any one do it and not get caught?

the proctor didn't even say we are not sllowed to rewind. but seriously, there was not enough time to rewind anyway.

i rewinded...alot. Just fast forward when you hear the questions.

you know..? I dont think they'll even notice if u rewind.. first of all the cd portion is supposed to b 20 mins. If it goes over that , say like to 25 mins you still get 40 mins for the rest of the test...I THINK.. so if you rewind then ull probablly still get the alloted time for the reading portion. also, you could just pretend to b putting ur volume up and rewind. But i dont think ull need to its sooo slow and soo clear and pretty easy.

well i think you could rewind but you're not allowed to
the CD lasts for 20 mins and if you end later then everyone else the proctors would know.

iammike...that is such a GREAT idea!! dude, I never thought of that.

i rewinded because i lost concentration hehe ...i didnt know that you could and thought that it would stop the whole cd or something hehe
guess i was expecting some special feature that keeps it from rewinding...
but yeh just dont rewind too much because theres no time
