So, since I'm fairly good at reading (80 PSAT CR, 760 SAT CR), I figured I'd sign up for the SAT lit test. I went to my friendly blue book and took the practice test -- I only scored a 690 (and I felt very uneasy during the test...I'm surprised at the 690, to be frank).

I have two weeks until the June 7 test. Could someone recommend me a preparation strategy to maximize my score? Time/money's not an issue -- I'll do what it takes to get a high score.

All I did was study up on some of the vocab words used in the test (the literary technique of "apostrophe" was one I didn't know). I did it all the night before and got a 780 (after a 730 CR).

I thought it was pretty easy. I think the best thing to do if you're worried is to buy a good prep book (Kaplan or PR are the bests, I've heard) and do a lot of practice tests. It's all about getting used to the test format and the type of questions they ask.

Also, read a lot of poetry. The test is like 70% poetry.

Could you give an example of the type of questions about poetry? Is it questions about particular poems, or do they give you poems and ask questions about it?

^ they ask you to interpret a poem that they give you

Ashraf, I'm in the same situation as you! I'm pretty good at the CR section (79 PSAT), but in the blue book (for SATIIs) I got a 720 and in the barrons book I got a 640 (yikes!).

So southeasttitan, are you sure that PR and Kaplan are the best? does anyone know how hard the barrons tests are compared to the real thing?
