Is it worth taking the SAT Lit subject test? My SAT reading and writing scores are low and I'm not taking the AP Lang test because of IB conflicts so I don't have a high English test score.

SAT: 2060 (610 CR, 800 M, 650 W)
Will retake for 2100+

SAT Subject Tests:
Chemistry- 700
Math Level 2- 740
World History- 680

AP:
Chemistry- 3
European History- 4
Statistics- 5
World History- 5

This year I am taking AP Calc BC, AP US History, SAT Math 2 (retake), and SAT US History. I will take the subject test for physics in the fall. Do I need the SAT Lit subject test too? I want to go to UC Berkeley for environmental science.

Will someone please help me

All depends on how well you can do. I don’t know your level of capability.

Be aware, the SAT Literature is like the critical reading section on the SAT, except much harder, and often using poems and passages from hundreds of years ago. If you’re not good at analyzing and understanding passages on the SATI, then taking the SATII probably won’t be the easiest thing for you.

I’d recommend taking a practice test for the SAT Lit, and seeing what the problems are like. Gauge from there.

The Lit test has nothing to do with your intended major, so I wouldn’t recomend you take it. I don’t think you’re smart enough to score well on the Lit subject test in all honesty. Your CR score is way too low.

The sat Lit test is extremely self selecting (only those who think they will score high will take it). It’s a very demanding subject, and only the smartest take it. You’re better off retaking the world history test.
