I’ve taken the SAT twice and my highest score is a 1380, but my ACT (which I also took twice) is a 33. A 33 is a lot better in comparison to a 1380 (700 reading, 680 math). I got a 700 on the subject test for math 1, 740 for literature, and 800 for US History. I’ve already submitted all my scores.
My EC’s are good and I have a 4.0 (weighted is 4.985) with a class rank of 5/491. but is it silly to think I have a chance with this SAT? I really love Yale but I don’t want to get my hopes up.
It’s too late now, but WHY did you submit your SAT score to Yale when you didn’t have to? Yale allows for score choice for the SAT Subject Test scores, so could have omitted your SAT score, sent the SAT Subject tests, and submitted your ACT score. However, if you submitted all your scores, it’s already a done deal – and who knows how Yale will view your lower SAT score in context with your other scores. This is really a failure to read Yale’s website and, if confused, asking questions before submitting all scores: https://admissions.yale.edu/faq/standardized-testing
