I took SAT four times, and I scored 460 for reading, 700 for math, and 660 for writing (essay: 9). The total is 1820, which is not too low. However, my reading score is extremely low. Many colleges require at least 500 for reading score. I'm worried if the low reading score will hurt. I'll be happy if I can get into any school ranked within 100th.
So, does the reading score hurt my chance to get into good colleges?
Thank you so much!

Can you retake your SAT in january and apply to score choice colleges?

It may though it depends on which school you apply to. Some look at superscores, so if you can retake or give ACT, you might have a better chance with it

You might also look at the test optional colleges. http://www.fairtest.org/university/optional/state

I think that if you would have to bomb a section of the SAT the better one would be the writing sec. Colleges do take the reading sec seriously. I would look at the test optional colleges, there are some great colleges that are test optional. Bc even if u take the sat one more time, and u score choice it or superscore it, the colleges will know how many times u’ve taken the SAT
