First time (October) -> second time (March)
CR 630->750 shocked me to be honest, heard it was hard to improve.
Math 680->640 almost 100% positive I had a bubbling error. Any way I can fix it? Noticed it on the last section (10) that I had 17 bubbles in the 16 question math section and just erased the last one. Kinda sucks
Writing 480-540 improvement but still holding me way back. Upping my study game for this
Without the math error I improved 180pts between the two sections which I think is ok. Only going to take it 1 more time so I have to improve my attention to detail and writing. Waiting to see if I was right about the bubbling when the full reports release, if it was just me not getting them right I will study day and night for it. Also I guess I can now shoot for the mythical 800 on the cr now that I am not far off.
Just asking again but there is no way for me to post-test fix a bubbling error if I find all my answers are shifted down right?
2350 (800 M, 800 W, 750 CR)
I got a 2210 (770 M, 720 W, 720 CR) the first time in October. I’m feeling super happy and blessed right now, and if anyone needs advice or support feel free to message me or reply. I think the main difference was that in October I was extremely nervous as it was my first time. I hardly did any prep between October and March, so the main thing was most likely nerves. You just have to go in with a calm head, and you will perform better.
@aznboi4981
I disagree. The people frequenting this forum are probably motivated (on average) than your average student.
@icy1998
How do you stop being dumb with the math? None of the math is hard (and math is probably my best subject), yet math has never been my highest score.
If only the math curve was as lenient as the writing curve…
CC kids be like 800M 800 CR 800 W should I retake ? lolol jk no chill
720 CR
680 Math
550 Writing
What the hell? I had done fine on all of the practice tests and stuff, thank god for superscoring.
@jefftaco
nice job on CR. interesting that that was your best section.
@ShipAlreadySank If you’re referring to careless errors, just make sure you check your work, read directions CAREFULLY (like if they’re asking for 2x or x in a question), and try to get to the answer without looking at choices. If you are just missing a lot of questions, you probably are unfamiliar with or forgot some concepts. Just make sure you go over HOW to do each question you missed. Also, doing more and more practice tests will help eliminate careless errors as you become accustomed to the SAT. Also, this curve was average; -1 for math was 780, and nowadays it is usually 770 (like it was in October for me).
@icy1998
Yep, careless errors. Thanks for the advice! I seem to make a habit of making mistakes on easier questions.
A little better than average, then? I actually thought the math this time was easier than October, so the curve was surprisingly favorable.
And congratulations! I guess you’re done!(?)
@ShipAlreadySank Thanks!
I have no idea what I did wrong
but hopefully I can do well on my next one. Hopefully I can do it before September because I’m sending an early app to BU.
@zebily Hahaha I’m tired of people complaining too.
First time (October, 2010) --> Second time (March, 1970)
CR: 590 --> 640 Yes! The only thing I wanted to improve. Although I didn’t improve as much as I wanted to, I’m happy I got something out of this test.
M: 700 --> 630 Math was extremely difficult for me this time. It was probably because I didn’t prepare for it at all, but my score in this was fine anyway.
W: 720 --> 700 (E: 10 --> 9) I got the same MC score as last time and one point lower on the essay, so it was basically the same.
Good job everyone! Please try be content with your scores. There is a world full of people just trying to do half as well as everyone here is doing. Keep up the good work!
@ShipAlreadySank Yes, I am done. On to subject tests and AP’s!
@jefftaco
I’m sure you’ll improve your score. Good luck!
@icy1998 Nice! Going to be a fun few months.
@Verminsoupreme we’re score buddies! Exact same distribution and composite score!
I would be torn about retaking, but my school district pays for the May SAT and my boyfriend is gifting me his unused prep book. Hoping for a 2300!
I literally cried for 2 hours because I was so disappointed… I only have like 1 more chance to take it now since the March test was my 2nd test and I can’t take more than 3 times or else colleges will think I’m crazy
760 math
690 writing ( IDK HOW I DID SO BAD here to be really honest
)
620 reading (okay so obviously this is why i was so depressed; i did not see this coming )
2070 total
even though this may sound dramatic but i feel like i can’t take this test again b/c i cried for 5 days before testing day b/c/ i was so stressed and now idk if i can do any better junior year and like physically look at the test again.
plus UCs don’t even superscore (mine is 2150) and UGH IM SO SCREWED
Waw ! Was the test really that easy ?
I checked the national average and it’s below 1500 but all of you people score above 2000 and you’re still unhappy…
By the way, even though I am a foreign student who still needs to improve his English skills, I took the SAT for experiencing what millions of American students do.
I did not do as well as you did but I am still satisfied with my scores ( first time taking ).
CR : 470 // M : 560 // W : 450 => Total 1480.
By the way for the universities I apply to, I needed around 1000 on the CR and M part so I am fine
@DeanAmbrose. Welcome to College Confidential.
@Larensea hey that’s great! How many times have you taken it?
Hahaha, oh man, that reading curve! -5, 740. Wow. Math curve was a smidge more generous than October. Writing curve was great.
