SAT math help?

I have always been good at math. I've gotten A's in Calculus, 36 on ACT math, and 800 on SAT 2 Math, but I can't seem to do well on the SAT math section. It seems like I have to get lucky on the types of questions. I always get tripped up with questions with terms I'm not familiar with or problems that I have no clue how to solve.

What is the best way to improve math for the SAT? I want to try and get an 800, but it seems like a lot of it depends on luck.

That's weird, I haven't really heard of this happening before. What are you getting on math then, >750?

You might be lacking the basic concepts. I got a 780(-1) last year while making USAMO at the same time. I felt so embarrassed. So I just bought the Blue Book and just solved all the math sections of all the tests of the book in one sitting.

I think that helped me a lot.

you were embarrassed that you got 1 wrong? wow

I don't think someone who makes USAMO should lack any basic mathematical concepts. Careless mistakes, maybe...

I got 670 on math last time. I have no clue why I did this poorly. I felt confident about almost all of answers and got a pretty bad score. My arrogance wouldn't let me skip the one I didn't know either.

Could you have shifted your answers or made a lot of bubbling errors?

I doubt it, because if that were the case, then i would have gotten a significantly lower score.

Not really.. in march, a friend of mine shifted a string of 6 or 7 answers in Writing and got 680 where otherwise he would have gotten an 800...

This MAY have been the case, but doesn't seem likely.

But back to my original question: What is the best way to prepare for SAT MATH?
