SAT Math I vs Math II

Hi,

I have just finished my Junior year, and have not yet taken at any SAT II's. I am planning to take SAT II Chemistry and SAT II World History. As for math, I have not taken pre-calculus, the last course I've done is, unfortunately, Math B. Would I be able to handle Math Level II or should I take Math Level I?

And if you recommend that I take either, what prep book should I use? I am pretty good with math (100 average), but the problem is I haven't taken the course. Nevertheless, I seem to be able to answer college board's sample questions on lvl.II, so... :S

Anyone?...

for MAth II it might be harder if you haven't taken pre calc. Have you got any trig education? I think a basic trig understanding should suffice for mAth II. the only pre calc stuf that's on there is limits. also know your geometry, graphing, and advanced (or year 2) algebra really well. if you haven't got any trig training then i suggest getting a textbook and teaching yourself some of the fundamentals. The thing with Math I is that not many colleges accept it, the prestigiuos ones at least, b/c much of the its content is already included in the SAT reasoning math sections.

All in all, I suggest taking the Math II.
For prep books: barron's or PR are good. But as I said before, you might need a solid trig text book if you haven't taken trig yet.

good luck

trig was included in my math course and I'm pretty good at it - so I guess I'll get a PR book and self-study for the test in november. :)

Just practice from Barrons and Princeton Review, Math B should suffice.

Any advice on which calculator should I use? Last year I used the graphing TI-89 Graphing (<a href="http://etronics4less.stores.yahoo.net/texinti8grap1.html)%5B/url%5D">http://etronics4less.stores.yahoo.net/texinti8grap1.html)</a>, is that enough for the test?

sorry - I actually used ti-83 plus.. that enough or I need ti 89?

It's enough...that's what I used...and the most commonly used one.

TI-83+ is sufficient. TI-89 can do many of the questions (solving algebraic equations) for you. But they're both allowed by CB. It makes no sense to me, but eh.

Ha, look at this. A book specifically made for the math subject test + TI89.

the ti-89 is godly.. i'd def buy that and it'll help you out with the pre-calc
