I’m garbage at math and I’m really, really dreading this test. Got a 26 in Math in my most recent ACT, for god’s sake. I’ve really improved since then, but the practice tests I’m taking are really challenging me. My memorization isn’t great so I’m having to go back and review things I learned years ago. Right now, I’m just grinding practice tests and learning from my mistakes on different questions.

It makes me feel even worse to go on here and see all of these people talking about how easy the test is, how they got an 800 without studying, and so on. I have had straight A’s in honors level math all through high school, makes me wonder where I went wrong to be struggling this badly.

Oh, well! Back to Khan Academy ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ

@Bozusaki which book are you using? Barron’s?

What I am doing these days:
I’m solving tests from ARCO/Barron’s/McGraw Hill’s (only did one test from it thus far, because it is the easiest out of the three) and my scores are varying greatly… 700-740/730-760/800 (respectively).

and then I re-solve what I’ve gotten wrong and what I’ve skipped. In case I’m really bad at a certain lesson, I study it.

I’m aiming for an 800 but I don’t know which test score to believe. xD

What are you all doing these days? And what do you plan to do on the last day?

@BethanyD Everything I can get my hands on, but primarily Barron’s. I’m definitely improving but I’m realizing now that my Precalc class didn’t teach me A LOT of stuff so I’m kind of playing catch up on things. I’m becoming more optimistic but I’m still thinking I might have to retake in the fall. Blah.

@Bozusaki Barron’s covers the material in an “advanced” way if you know what I mean - McGraw Hill’s covers the material in an understandable way. Barron’s tests are so much harder than McGraw Hill’s (which, I’ve read, represent the actual test more)

“I’m still thinking I might have to retake in the fall.” same. I wish I started earlier. I was too tired after this gruesome school year.

got a 790 last time…retaking for an 800…regretting my decision to retake a test that doesn’t even matter…but now I’m stuck so fml i better get studying :/.

@JuicyMango Hey I remember you from the SAT 1 Thread from January

@JuicyMango it’s been a while dude! How are you?!

@JuicyMango you’re still a true perfectionist LOL

I just took a college board test and got a 770. I think i might skip school tomorrow and study

is there more then one official test?

Yes. But I don’t have it. T_T

@goldeagle81616 Hey :). Little did I know, those were the easy times.

@BethanyD Long time no see! I’m always trying to get those elusive 800s :p. But my perfectionism is tiring, I’m literally counting down the days until summer lol.

@Yugimoto There are 2 official tests. You’ll find them in the official math level 1 and 2 study guide by college board. What I did last time was just borrow the book from Barnes and Nobles and take it right then and there.

I’m debating whether to re-take all the diagnostic and model tests in Barrons, because I don’t think its that hard to get an 800 on this test, I was only off by 1 question last time.

@JuicyMango I wanna ask you xD how did you prep for the previous math level 2 test? This is my first and I want to get a decent score!

@BethanyD I just went through Barrons and did all the quizzes and practice tests.

Would someone be so kind as to PM me the 2nd official practice test by College Board for math level 2? Its in that separate book for the sat math subject tests, and I only have the first official test :/.

@JuicyMango We’re both in the same boat. I only have the 20-tests guide practice test. I just did it now.

people who took 2C before: is the one in the official guide with 20 tests easier, harder, or average (in terms of difficulty)?

@BethanyD I got an 800 in the blue book test but took the actual test on May 7th. I left like 6 questions blank and got 1 wrong. The actual test seemed a lot harder.

What’s a good score for the Ivies?
