SAT Math II subject test score?

I got a 790 on the Math II subject test, is it worth it to retake it to get a 800?

No

No. I hope you have more effective ways to use your time. Great score.

For applying to university, no. 790 is a great score (even if you want to apply to MIT or Caltech). The only reason that I would consider retaking a 790 is if you just want to see if you can get 800 just for the sake of knowing you can do it. However, at this time in your life I expect that you are very busy with many other more important tasks.

The only two people that I know personally who have gotten 790’s on any SAT, did not bother to retake it.

Congrats on such a great score! As everyone said above, don’t retake it. Don’t waste the time, or the money. It’s tempting, I know! I was in a similar situation. However, here’s a quick question: do you think that if you get rejected from a college, it will be because of a 10 point difference? The answer is no, especially if you aced the math section of the SAT or ACT too.

@squijee Good job! I personally do not think it is worth the effort. However, if the 10 point difference really annoys you, and since you already have all the knowledge needed for the test and did all the preparation, you can choose to do so.

Admissions committees in colleges, internships, or other programs couldn’t care less about 10 points.
