I don't quite get why Math needs two levels. Do some colleges consider one over another? If someone takes level II, is there a point to take level I?

What are the purposes of each level?

Thanks in advance!

No. Math1 and Math2 are consider one subject if you take both. For Science and Engineering, most schools want to see Math2 instead of Math1. One may actually get higher score in Math2 than in Math1 due to the curves and your math skills. Around 1 % students get 800 in Math1 but around 10% in Math2 although Math2 is more difficult.

If you take math 2 it doesn’t make sense to take math 1. colleges look more highly on a math 2 score than an equal score from math 1 since math 2 involves more advanced math. and the curve is alot easier on math 2 so its actually easier to do well on math 2 as long as you learned the concepts. if you decide to take math 2, i personally used the barons review book and found it very helpful.
