SAT Math Level 2. JANUARY 2014

Just gave my SAT Math level 2 test and I am disappointed! I practiced for about 3 months from Barron's gave 5 practice test and got about 670. As Barron's is kinda difficult book I expected that I will get around 740! I then gave 2 "actual" SAT practice test (blue Book) I scored 750 and 740. I was pretty confident. But today's test was VERY DIFFICULT!!!
It was harder than Barron's practice test!!! I really didn't expected that. What do you think about the test.
Please share your opinion.
PS: Do not discuss any particular question as it is against the SAT rules.

OMG YES, Math 2 absolutely killed me haha. Mostly the questions around the end. And it was my last chance to take it too :confused: ugghh.

This was my last time too lol! I hope they give a big curve this time. [-O< :-bd

i found it easier than the first barron’s test i took and about the same as the second barron’s test
i couldn’t be bothered to take any collegeboard tests because i ran out of time to study but i think i did okay (780+ hopefully)

That’s nice. Well good luck (:

Barron’s tests were a million times harder than yesterday’s actual test.

With Barron’s you can’t even finish the test lol.

I don’t know. May be it was just a bad day for me :(

I thought the test was easy…Lit and Bio were much more difficult for me.

I think I was out of luck that day. sighh

I only studied for the test using SparkNotes the day before and I was really surprised at how easy it was! Idk why people taking the test for their 3-4th time still think its difficult (Not directed against OP), they should know the format and difficulty of the questions by now… I most likely got 5 wrong at max (including problems that I might have done silly mistakes on) which should be enough for an 800 but I’m fine with anything above a 780 to be honest.

i skipped 8 questions and i may have gotten a few wrong but i was pretty confident in the ones i did know. Lets say i skipped 8 and got around 8 wrong. what would my score be? should i cancel it. My goal is 750 but I’d be more than happy to get over a 700. However, I think i may just take it in May/June BUT my only concern is that I have no idea if the test will be extremely hard.

@Msk125 I don’t think so that you will get above 700 (as u said “8 skipped and 8 wrong”). I think the difficulty level will be the same in May/June. The problem I faced was time managing. I couldn’t manage the time and ended up leaving 6 questions blank :frowning:

@ThatMathySciGirl i didn’t give those test lol

@elyvine good to hear that you will get such a high score (:

I think I did pretty good. I remembered all of the randomest things, and got most of the confusing questions right. The thing about me though, is that I always get the hard ones right, and the easy, albeit tricky, ones wrong.

For those wondering, you can skip 7 and get a 800. Get 7 wrong, that’ll get you a 780ish, because every question wrong deducts 0.25, rounded to the nearest whole number.
So, skip 8, and get 8 wrong, that’ll get you a 690.

50-16 = 34 questions right, - (0.25)*8 = 34-2 = 32, which, on the score conversion table, is a 690.

@eding97 I really hope that I get above 700! <:-P

Don’t we already have a thread for this?
