umm just a quick question, to apply to stanford is it good idea to take this test? i personally dislike it. anyone out there that was accepted not take this test? some insight wuld be helpful thanks a lot ^^

ohh and also, is there a bias against ACT scores? sorry for such trivial questions -_-

Stanford recommends that you take the level 2 test. Will they reject you if you don't take it? No. Is it a good idea to listen to them when they recommend something? Probably. So, if you can, I would take it.

I don't think Stanford is bias against the ACT. However, I remember reading that they prefer the SAT and will consider it more heavily than the ACT.

i heard from a friend (not sure if this is accurate) that as a rule of thumb, LACs like the ACTs while universities, especially non-east coast ones, like the SATs

BingCold, I highly doubt that any university would prefer one test over the other UNLESS they say so. True, the LACs have been having problems with collegeboard, but they would not discriminate against the students who take the SATs.

If you are planning to take the Math SATII, you have a better shot at a higher score with level 2...the curve is MUCH MUCH more generous. Of course, you need the background in math (take it after finishing precalculus). Take a bunch of practice tests and take it. If you do not do well, retake. Remember, they look at the highest score for each test.

Good luck!
