is this really required?

I would like to know as well!

I heard that it’s only if you want to skip like the easier classes, and especially if you’re majoring in something that involves math?

As a journalism major, I’m hoping I don’t have to take SAT II math hahaha. :)

yea, after I took my last SAT test I swore to myself that I would no longer take ANY kind of SAT tests ever in my lifetime.

Its not required. Only if you are okay with being in the lowest math class, I think.

I don’t understand why this test would be necessary if you have AP credit for Calculus. So, I’m not taking it. Suppose I’m living dangerously! :]

you don’t have to take it. Just bring all your AP scores the CTOPS session, and they will put you in the appropriate math class (I think. I’m an entering freshman as well) :)

This has the list for what scores exempt you from. AP Calc counts for credit.
