SAT reasoning test math portion and SAT Math IC (Level 1) subject test:
Can anyone tell me how they are different?

I know the SAT Math IIC (Level 2) test includes precalculus topics, but the Level 1 test and the math portion of the reasoning test goes up to Algebra 2 only.

yeah i was wondering this too, also, do colleges want to see SAT Math II or does not matter which one you take?
Also, if i am applying to schools which require 3 SAT II's, do i have to take one in english/reading, even though i suck at it? Or can i take like us history, math and physics?

I've always heard that it is recommended you take and submit one math test (doesn't matter which one); never heard that the English test is recommended though.

My friend just told me a very important thing: to take the Math Level 2 instead of Level 1 because colleges ( especially) UCs NEED Math level 2.

The SAT II Math Level I is almost the same as the SAT math. You should take Math II hands down, but remember, it is very close to being a cumulative precalc final, and the average on it is fairly high. It's in the high-600s. So, I wouldn't take it lightly as you would the Math I.
