Not true. I’ve seen multiple questions on Algebra II, and I’ve had verbal confirmation from two different math teachers, in Geometry and Algebra II, that it is on the test and something to study for.

@TomsRiverParent I only took one math class, Calc AB, as a sophomore (you said, “You take two math classes as a sophomore. Geometry and Algebra 2.”). I also took an elective sophomore year which I don’t regret taking.

Yeah, I disagree with the two math sophomore year statement as well. It’s widely advised to take an elective.

@TomsRiverParent I go to a Voc school because it is a part of the Cisco Academy, and gives me great insight as to what I will be doing in my future. Furthermore, just because I go to a voc school does NOT mean college isn’t the best option for me. My school doesn’t offer Geometry and Alg. 2 for sophomores. Sophomores EITHER take Geometry OR Alg. 2/Trig. I don’t know what school you go to or went to, but my school doesn’t follow that system. Nor does any school I know of in New York City.

@TomsRiverParent My schedule isn’t even full. The point is, Geometry and Algebra II cannot be taken by a sophomore in the same year.

Ur problem is you are going to a votech school for shop.
U need to decide whether you want to be a mechanic or go to college.
Going to votech as the route to college is the wrong way to go.

I don’t know if you read correctly. I am not in a mechanic shop. I am in a Cisco Networking Shop, a very challenging one at that. My shop class is college level, I’m getting certified in CCNA, the first level of certification in Cisco. Something one can only work towards in COLLEGE. Going to a Shop School and then college makes way more sense because you already have an idea of what you want to do with your life. Therefore, through a shop class, you WILL have more experience of what you’ll be going into in college.

And who are you to say that one cannot go to a votech school AND go to college. You really seem to hinder the idea of doing anything you set your mind to- with limitations. Obviously you’ve opinionated that one cannot go to college and attend a shop high school.
