need help thanks

The senior class has 400 students. The boys:girls ratio in that class is 5:3, which means for every 8 students there are 5 boys and 3 girls. 400/8=50; 505=250; 503=150. There are 250 boys and 150 girls in the senior class. The total number of boys in the junior and senior classes combined is equal to the total number of girls in those classes combined, so the junior class must have 100 more girls than boys to make up for the 100 more boys than girls in the senior class. There are 300 students in the senior class–200 girls and 100 boys. The boys:girls ratio is 1:2. The answer is (B).

Here are the stats:
Junior class: 200 girls, 100 boys; 300 students total
Senior class: 150 girls, 250 boys; 400 students total
TOTAL: 350 girls, 350 boys
