Flour, water, and salt are mixed by weight in the ratio of 5:4:1, respectively to produce a certain type of dough. In order to make 5 pounds of this dough, what weight of salt, in pound, is required? ???? Plz Help !

Let X be the weight of salt in pounds. Then, by the ratio,
5 pounds of dough = 5X + 4X + X = 10X.
leads to -> 5 pounds = 10 X,
so, .5 pounds = X = the weight of necessary salt.
