SAT MATH QUESTION

THe distance between the centers of two circles is 5. The diameter of one circle is 6 and the diameter of the other circle is 2. Which of the following statements must be true

A) THe two circles have no points in common
B) two points in common
C) one circle is completely inside the other
D) One circle passes through the center of the other
E One point in common

Draw it out and you’ll see immediately. Careful that the diameters are 6 and 2.

thanks whats the answer though

@avneety That’s for you to figure out. It wouldn’t really benefit you or me if I straight up told you the answer.

Remember the diameters are 6 and 2, so what are the radii equal to?

Once you know what the radii are, draw two points that are 5 apart (these represent the “centers” of the circles). Then draw the two circles. From here, you can immediately determine the answer.

well i thought they didn’t have any points in common because the radii are 1 and 3 so in total 4 will not equal 5

^right. (More specifically, 4 < 5)
