Hi guys I have question for Unit Conversion that I don't understand its logic so please help.

How many decawatts are equivalent to 449 hectowatts?

I first work these types of problems by first changing it to its base unit.

100 watt = 1 hectowatts

So in order to change it to its base unit it should be 449 * 100 = 44900 Now that we changed it to its base unit we now need to time the object by 10 which is for deca, but the answer is
4490 which means he divided by 10 or timed by 1/10. I don't get this logic why is the answer this way ??. I have some problems with unit conversion, because in some questions I don't understand its logic.

Thanks in advanced.
