SAT Math score- REALLY IMPORTANT?

Don't fret over it. Admissions is a holistic process. Your SAT Math score is fine, if the rest of your application is upto SCS standards, you'll get in. If you don't, it would not have been because of your SAT Math score but your appplication in general.

rbanerjee, those are the stats for the SAT II math IIc :-)

oh yea my bad, sorry :)

Yeah........has anybody desioncs been posted?

I don't believe they emphasize the score as much as the percentile. Remember, a 690 (my Math I score) is higher than about 92% of other students who took the test. They like that information more than just a shiny score. A 700 is higher than Math scores attained by 94 percent of students. You'll be fine. If you do not recieve an acceptance letter, rest assured that your math score is not the cause of it.

I applied to Carnegie Mellon's CIT, HSS, and TSB, and my math II score is only a 750 (82nd percentile). Not bad for a kid with ADD, eh?

I took the SAT I three times and got 800 in Math all three times
My writing and critical reading didn't do so well though..
Let's just say I barely got over 2000.
Anyways I also got an 800 on the SAT II in Math and Physics.
Plus I self-studied for AP Comp Sci AB, AP Physics C: Mech & E/M (all 5s)
I really want to attend CMU.

last year, for the first time in 17 (?) years.. some one from my school got into MIT, yip, male asian
