How high of a level of math should I have had before taking the SAT and expect a good score. (precalc, calc, alg 2, etc.)

Hmmm, I think that you should be fine if you've taken at least Algebra 2. You definitely don't need to have taken precalc to do well on the math section. So if you have completed Algebra 2, you should be familiar with everything on the test.

definitely have a strong foundation in algebra...and actually, if you're in higher math, make sure you go back and review stuff from earlier years, b/c simple things do slip your mind. there is NO calculus on the regular sat math, so no worries, and good luck!
in my case, i took them the first time after math B, which is approx algebra 2/trig...and then took them again during precalc...did great both times, but more thanks to math league practice than my actual classes!

I've found out that if you are good with logarithims it helps A LOT with some questions.

Just a word of advice
