SAT May 2009 Curve

For the math section I got one grid wrong - the one with (y-1) (x+1). I think that’s the only one I got wrong though. So I’m in the same situation as you Gaoez.

What do you guys think that will leave me with? I have a feeling the curve is not going to be great since I thought March was a lot harder… but I’m hoping it’s not a terrible curve.

Writing was pretty easy, so harsh curve.

I thought math was about the same as March, so hopefully an average to decent curve.

CR was pretty similar to March, which had an absolutely brutal curve, so I’m expecting a slightly better but still harsh curve.

Math was harder than March and I got 790 for march math. reading seemed easier, the sc was definitely easier. Writing the same as every other time

If you missed 2 grid ins (didn’t fill anything in) but got everything else right what would you get for math?

I thought writing was kind of hard but CR was ok(a lot easier than the one I had for Oct 08) I had like no history or science passages. Math was hard for me compared to the last test I took.

I got 1 wrong no omits on the math…

what was the curve for march?
is 800 still possible?

there was above average difficulty for vocab and many of the questions as you can see from the SAT CR discussion are controversial so there had better be a good scale.

light, probably 760; 750 if the curve is harsh and 770 if the curve is generous.

hopp, one omit is occasionally an 800 in math but this happens very rarely. General consensus is that the math was not hard enough to warrant that nice of a curve. I’d expect 780-790.

how many questions do you think that i could have gotten wrong and still get a 600?

those sat experts out there,

what do you guys think of the CR curve?

Math - harsh curve
Writing - harsh curve
CR - better be generous!

No seriously…those passages were horrid.

It’s really hard to predict the CR curve. People almost always think CR was hard. For the March test, everyone thought CR was really hard, but the curve ended up being one of the harshest ever. If I had to make a guess for this test, I would say about average.

how many questions can you get wrong/skip for a 700? for math that is

On average, 5 wrong or 6 omit.

i have noticed that the qas curves in general seem to be more lenient than non-QAS dates. im not saying its true necessary but that is what i have been noticing. so hopefully this is generous and compared to the other qas this definitely was harder.

u think for math 4 wrong 0 omits is 700+?

^ on average, 4 wrong is a 710, assuming at least three of them were MC.

(If two or more were grid-ins, you’re more likely to get a 720.)

damn i omitted 5 and got 2 wrong.

although 3 of the omitted were grid ins. didnt have enough time to complete.

Chances are you’ll get 680 or 690.

Cross your fingers ladies and gents! CB is pretty unpredictable…
