SAT May 2009 Curve

Sorry guys, that was a typo. I meant to say it’s not very often you can get an 800 on Math with -1. As 112358 said, it only occasionally happens.

I hope -1 is 790 for math! Is there a possibility?

That’s what I’m hoping as well

same here 10char

Any estimates on what a 650 would be?

I agree it’ll probably be 790. That’s what it was in March and I don’t think May was easier. CB is hard to predict though…

It depends on the people who took the test… hopefully all the smart people were taking the SAT Subject Tests, and we’ll get a really, really, really nice curve :P

^hhahahaahah, for my school, most of the “smart” people took it and the other (not so smart) people did not take in March. After scores were returned, most of the smart people decided to take it again in may, and in may, basically the rest of my grade took it then…if that makes any sense…

oh no!

this was my first time taking the SATs, and i think i bombed the math section. i was hoping everyone here would be like “MATH KILLED ME.” so i could feel better about myself. :(

i thought critical reading was average, and writing was super easy.

so stressed about math though!

From what I’ve seen, people generally underestimate the difficulty of the math section and overestimate the difficulty of the CR section. A bunch of people thought the March math was really easy but we got a decent curve.

i’m hoping you’re right, 112358. i’m actually really, really surprised people thought it was so easy. perhaps careless mistakes people made will help the curve?

I took March as well, and coming out of the March exam I definitely thought it was a whole lot more difficult than I did after coming out of this one.

That’s just my opinion though.

It sounds like CB is pretty unpredictable, so I guess time will tell.

I thought this SAT was much easier than BB’s.

It’s not so much that CB is unpredictable, because the curves are all based on formulas. It’s more that our perception of the difficulty of the test is largely based upon how easy or hard it was for us, which doesn’t necessarily reflect the objective difficulty level.

So all in all, the curve’s are fairly unpredictable lol.

But at least we’ll find out in less than 3 weeks. It’s a bit shorter of a wait than last time.

To me that’s a long wait lol.

Sometimes, waiting for scores is more fun than actually getting them. Once you get them, there’s usually not much excitement anymore.

I want my scores, AHHHHH. We have like what 16 days left?

i think the math curve will be pretty harsh. I think i’ve just got 2-3 wrong, mostly careless mistakes, while in the march sat i got at least 8 wrong
