SAT May 2009 Writing

Oh, about the trucks and large vehicles? I put no error.

damn it, why isnt ‘need not’ incorrect?

Was it about large vehicles and safety?

I said no error for the “need not” one although i thought about that one for quite some time.

i think most people would pick need not…it was at the end so they know that…pretty sure its no error

i debated on need not or no error but ended up picking no error because i hadn’t picked E for that group of 5 yet…isn’t there 1 E in every 5 questions?

For the owl flying low question i chose B because the sentence structure followed with ears tuned and wings beating wouldn’t be in parallel with ears tuned and with something else in the sentence that ended in ‘ed’.

@snargaluff: was that one about large trucks and safety?
@Jtran92: I remember A didn’t work either

yes, it was about large trucks and safety.

and for the owl one, i don’t remember what i put, but i know i didn’t pick A. i think I picked B.

yeah sorry for being late on this thread but i got 3 no errors for the writing section

Anybody else choose A for the owl question and E for the “no need” question?

hm i think i got 4 no errors. maybe 5

you mean the need not question right? that one was E no error

that’s what I meant lol.

did you get A for the owl question?

I put B for the owl question because it wouldn’t follow the parallel strucuture that followed the ending of the sentence… there were 2 parts of the sentence like ears tuned and something else that ended in ‘ed’ that i dont remember, so wings beating isn’t parallel with ears tuned and the other ‘ed’ word. Im not sure myself if B is right but ive herad people put A

owl is b. flying is wrong, it should be flew

(oh okay I mean A then)

It said something like “the owl flying, …”; can’t it not be flying and have to be something like “flew” because the rest of the sentence would just be a run-on sentence?

@Ari7: isn’t that A?

flying low was A… wings Beating was B

A sounded weird to me but i chose B because it didnt go by parallelism

It was def. not A because as it was, it was a fragment/run-on/whatever.
