**** SAT MAY 2014 DISCUSSION (US ONLY) *****

I GOT A 2400 IS THIS REAL

guys anything is possible. got 710 on critical reading in jan and thought i would only nominally improve. also pretty sure i got the lowest possible writing 800 with one mc wrong and an 11. goes to show that anything is possible with some luck and dedication. hope you all either got the scores you wanted or will get them in the near future.

i got a 2320 and im ecstatic. 770 CR, 780 M, 770 W with 9 essay. i think math scale was 1 wrong = 780

700 cr, 660 m, 800 w. 2160
Didn’t improve since Jan. (2200). I basically got the exact same subscores as last time too, so my superscore is still a 2200 lol…
I might try the ACT in the fall next year before apps are due, anyone think that’s a good idea?

@2015snl. Any tips on how you did it?

I have a question for you guys. I heard that the writing section wasn’t as important as the M and CR. Does this have any truth to it at all? Because I scored a relatively low 710 (68 10 Essay) but got 800s in both math and CR. Crossing my fingers that there might be a little truth to it since it’s the last time I’m taking.

630 CR, 750 M, 700 W, 1380/2080. Almost exactly what I was expecting with a little higher on writing. Very Pleased

CONGRATS everyone, especially @janedoeee11‌ and @dopecake‌!!
I got 2330. 800 Cr/m and 730 math. SO HAPPY. xD

Well done to all of you. Still very disappointed in my essay & math scores. I really was hoping for a 750+ in math. Now I got 700 and I’m not sure if I should redo the test…

@pmoney1 i had an 1830 last time I took it! I bought the princeton review book (didn’t even make it half way through) and I bought a vocab game for $5 called SAT (by mindsnacks) which was seriously really fun (no sarcasm) and I raised my score to a 2050!

Hey u guys man study hard like korean dongjiduhl ok But why i gotten 4 on essay man and 560 wr i say logic is wonderful why u judgeing on sentence patturns man

@pearchmarmalade - you asked about taking the ACT. If your score of 2150 is good enough for the schools you want, then I wouldn’t bother. HOWEVER, if you are aiming at the top schools, it wouldn’t hurt to try it. Borrow the ACT book from your library and try a few sample tests. Some people do better, but others don’t. You definitely have to work faster on it, but the problems are more straightforward. The Science section definitely takes some practice. Just for reference - my two daughter’s scores were 1930/33 and 2160/34. We are definitely sending just the ACT for both.

First time taking it, I’m really happy
800 CR
650 M
690 W with a 9 on the essay
Total: 2140

@rick44 I worked on vocabulary a lot which definitely helped! I knew almost none of the words in March but all of them in May. I just did a bunch of practice problems relating to CR. As for writing, there really isn’t a trick to it. I just searched around for tips and tricks on Google. I’ll DM you the link I found later!

800-m
800-w
650- cr

GUYS HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO WELL ON CR PLZ HELP HELP OMG

My CR was 670 the first time I took it. I just did direct hits vocab and the blue book passages and improved my score to 770

Did anyone’s scores on collegeboard show the national percentile for your total score? Mine doesn’t but some claim theirs did. Mine doesn’t even show the total score.

CR 760 MA 800 WR 800 TOTAL 2360
cant believe this just happened

based on these results can anyone extrapolate the curve for each section? writing was apparently curved harshly even though i thought it was one of the hardest MC of all the SATs ive practiced with. critical reading i have no idea. math is like -1 780 and not sure after that

guys i really need some advice , i scored 1770 ( 520 R , 600M , 650 W ) . my previous score was 1580 ( 400 R, 580 M , 600 W ) i really thought i would get 640+ in math and 680 + in writing but i don’t know what happened . do you guys think i can improve my score up to 1900 + in upcoming June test or is it a waste of time ? , i really don’t think i can improve my reading score in such a short period of time , but is it possible to get 680 + in math and 700 + in writing in 2 weeks ?? please help i really need to know the june test is my last trial :frowning:
