Are there any merit scholarships out there that are somewhat easy to apply for and rely heavily on SAT scores?
What was your PSAT?
218 PSAT (likely but not a guaranteed national merit semi finalist in Texas) and 2380 SAT
The best scholarships come from the schools themselves. Look at the pinned threads in this forum.
I agree with @Erin’sDad. Merit scholarships from universities can be quite generous and often do not require any additional effort (all of mine were unexpected and awarded at or around when I received the acceptances). Of course they are tied to attending that university. I ultimately chose to attend Yale, which does not offer merit-based aid.
There are a number of colleges where you would get guaranteed substantial merit aid, and others where you would be in the running for substantial competitive merit aid awards. BUT these would not be at any of the Ivy League schools…which do not give merit aid…at all.
How much merit aid do you hope to receive? Are you not eligible for need based aid?
If accepted at an Ivy League school, how will you pay for this in the absence of merit aid?
Read the links in this thread…much info on scholarships.
USC offers merit scholarships based on tests scores , some of them are full tuition and cover some expenses , check their website.
