SAT mess up - how to cancel the score?

My D. took SAT subject history test today. Due to accident, she completely messed up. didn't answer 30 out of 90 questions. We want to cancel her SAT score. Anybody knows how to cancel the score?

It'd be to her best interest to take the same subject test ASAP. But there isn't any SAT in the summer, is there?

Thanks for any advice. D. is devastated...

This info should be in the student’s test packet. SAT II scores don’t carry the same weight they once did, imo. Only a very few schools require them. She hasn’t jeopardized her chances anywhere, provided she cancels the scores.

Thank you! We’ll check that out.

The thing is she had a good shot to a 800. But something happened. We all feel terrible. but I keep telling her the most important thing at this point is to learn the lesson. One bad thing is it looks like the closest date for the next SAT is after summer.

There are three test dates in the fall that will get the scores to the schools before the typical January 1 application deadline.

You have to do this RIGHT AWAY. The student can do it at the testing site right after the test using the form they provide with the test or you can download a form and FAX it in, **by Wednesday **after the test. Here are the details -

Good advice from BeanTowngirl… you must do this right away!!!
As long as you cancel, your daughter will not be penalized - there will be no record of it.
Tell her not to worry… she can take it again in the Fall. Things happen…

We faxed the request to CB. Should I call Monday to confirm? I think I will.

Hi- yes I would call Monday to confirm.

If your kid was taking the US History test, s/he can take it in October. However, if it was the world history test, it won’t be offered again until December, unfortunately.

She took U.S. history. October is already too long a wait.
