SAT nd GPA

I havent gotten much help with the following question so could someone help me?

I'm an African American female, California resident attending a private school in the Southbay. UW GPA: 3.7 estimated UC GPA: 4.18, top 10% in my school. I've played basketball for 3 years and track for 2 (varsity last year and qualified for CIF in long jump). I'm on the California Scholarship Federation. Haven't done any volunteering (yikes i know) but I plan on doing some this summer. Took the June SAT for the first time without studying and got a 1670 ( M 500 CR 520 W 650 w/ a 10 on the essay).I'm pretty disappointed though and plan on retaking it in October...hoping for 2000+ with the help of SAT classes. I'm really nervous about the college process as a whole and would like some realistic takes on my chances. Help me out pleaase!

How big of a school do you go to? If you are in a class of about a 100 for example, your accolades are nothing too special, how ever in a class of 500, they hold some weight.

SAT scores are a little on the low side for good colleges but nothing that can’t be fixed with hard work… Many people think that SAT prep classes will do the work for them and then are surprised when they only get a 50 point increase. Bettering your score is really all dependent on your work ethic.

ahh yeah its pretty small like 200-300 something  I’ve now realized the importance of ECs and kinda regret not being more involved haha

Will definitely trying to work on my SATs! Thank youuu!
