*** SAT OCT 2014 Results thread*****

I know its just 13 days to go............ but, lets give ranges and wait for our actual scores.

CR: 670 - 780
M: 650 - 710
W: 610 - 710
Composite: 1930 - 2200

I felt like I did better this time than previous scores.

Dec. Make-Up Scores:

CR: 650
M: 620
W: 600 (6)

Composite: 1870

June Scores:

CR: 660
M: 630
W: 640 (7)

Composite: 1930

CR: 750-800
Math: 800
W: 700-740

Composite 2250-2340.

I think that the consensus seems to be that the CR had easy passages but fairly difficult questions. Math was moderate to difficult. The Essay was hard in my opinion and the MC was about average. I think we get a very lenient curve on Math and a curve leaning towards the lenient side for both Writing and CR.

CR: 730-800
Math: 760-780 (if CB drops the median question)
W: 780-800 (760 is my superscore backup just in case)

Overall: 2250-2380 (I’d be perfectly happy with anything in that range)

Isn’t the curve the same as the December 2013 SAT? (Which was really harsh btw)

I cant wait 13 days

@icepierre‌ The curve for the international SAT will be the same as Dec 2013’s test, because it was the exact same test from what I understand. The US version of the SAT will be different because it’s a different test as far as I know.

Thanks for the detail! Something’s going to die inside come November when I have to retake this abominable test :(

@godsgem322 could you give me link go the december curve

@godsgem322 and @icepierre, dont u think the curve might be different considering the varying level of english proficiency among we internationals.

@velocitron‌ I’m pretty sure the College Board aims to make the SAT an easy way for colleges to gauge students and compare their proficiencies and so it will not curve the international test more easily than it does the US test. An 800 for one person should denote the same level of achievement as another person with an 800.

This will kill me for sure

@icepierre, i learnt that the curve is based on the statistical distribution of randomly selected papers of test takers… this is why i thought, the curve would differ, even if just slightly

@kigzcorp, register for the next test ASAP

@velocitron i cant afford. Am from kenya btw…Was targeting 2000 but i see myself at 1950 :-(

@kigzcorp check the US Embassy at Nairobi, and register for USAP, IF u scale through the interview, they’ll cover all you tests (SAT TOEFL etc) and application costs.

wow… 10 more days to go

8 days to go

BUMP. 6 more days [-O<
