SAT On Demand - Kaplan Online Course

Hey guys,

Newbie here. I just received my SAT scores and received a 1940 with a terribly low score on Critical Reading. I was looking through an Online Course and came upon a Kaplan Online Course on the price of $300 dollars. Here is the info:

I think the best way to improve scores is to take your own initiative; as long as you put the time and effort into studying, you can achieve great scores. If you got a 1940 on your first try, I would recommend starting off your summer with just the Collegeboard Bluebook and self-studying. Take a full test once a week and see how that goes. If you reach a point where your scores hit a ceiling, then I would consider taking the course.

Hi WorkOverTalent,

I posted in some threads on my summer schedule and I think it’s bullet-proof. Kaplan is NOTORIOUS for having horrible prep resources so I do not recommend that you take that online course. Look for local programs so that it can be tailored to suit your needs. Otherwise, I suggest that you self-study and hire a tutor that you can meet every two weeks. This way, you can ask the most important questions while you meet with your tutor. Be aware that the SAT can be defeated with just self-preparation. You do not need tutors or online courses if you have the determination to do so. In my case, I don’t have that so I need my resources :)
