SAT Online Course

Hey guys, I’ve been practicing with the SAT Online Course tests and it’s been a strange experience…for example, I just took a practice writing section (printed out section 6 and 10), and I missed a total of 5 questions. On the real test this October, I got a 750 (-2 on mult. choice, and 10 essay). Since that test, I’ve read The Ultimate Grammar book by Erica Meltzer several times, so if anything shouldn’t my score go up? The SAT Online Course tests just seem wayyyy harder…I also took the October 2013 writing sections and scored an 800, and it was way easier. Isn’t the SAT supposed to be standardized, meaning I’m supposed to get nearly similar results? Should I just stick to actual administered SAT’s, and stp worrying about these unrealistically difficult ones?

Hey @JuicyMango
I tried the first 4 online tests this past summer. I got consistently destroyed on the reading and writing. It didn’t feel like the difficulty of any qas test. Stick to qas tests first then if you really have to try the online tests. I also feel the like the last 7 blue book tests (the ones which were never really adminstered) were harder as well. Maybe just because I’m bad though. Then again people like Marvin would probably laugh at both of us.

@NotBadNotGood: Oh wow, thank god, it isn’t just me! You’re right, I think I should just stick to tests that have actually been administered before. I’ll use the online tests as a last resort.

Who is Marvin?

Marvin100. He pretty much knows everything there is to know about the SAT and consistently answers questions here.

I think the first test of the online course is extremely difficult compared to a typical QAS. However, I’ve been told that it is a previously administered test.

@CHD2013: Is that so? I’ve taken almost every single QAS test, and I haven’t seen it before. If you are right though, I feel really bad for the kids who had to take that test for their real SAT lol.

Same thing happened to me, my cr score was around 650 in the bluebook and I really just wanted to hit 700, and the first online test I took I hadended up with like a 580 and that completely destroyed everything I had hoped for, I had brought my sophomore psat score from a 570 to 650 and it seemed like hours of hard work for nothing. Apparently a lot of people felt it was harder at least w and cr
-math felt a bit easier tho

@Yugimoto: Exactly. Cr and W were harder, but math was a bit easier imo. So the QAS and Blue book tests are really the best and most accurate options.

I agree these tests are harder, even for math.
