SAT optional, but is it wise not to send scores?!!!

Hi, i wanna ask a question
although many schools state that they are SAT-optional (such as Dickinson, Bates, Conncoll...)
but is it wise not to send score?
will a lot of people choose not to send scores?
will the college officers undermine your application because you don't send in your score?

because i think there are still many people prefer to send score although the schools have the SAt-optional policy as they think that their SAT scores are good and that give them some additional advantage
anw, college officers also know that people dont send score for a reason: their scores are low, so they can easily make some preferences upon viewing the applications

So is it wise to do so??

If the school is SAT optional, its SAT optional. Not sending the scores won’t hurt you.

If u have a mediocre SAT score then it wont add nor detract from ur app. Only bother sending a score if its really good. Otherwise not sending a score just puts all of the focus on ur other things, and even if u send a score it wont be taken too much into account

^Well put! They obviously don’t put too much empahsis on SATs, so why bother sending scores bellow the 2200-2400 range?

as a general rule, definitely send if you are above the schools mean. They can and will be used as a plus factor.
