I know bowdoin is SAT optional but at what point should u send ur scores high 12s+ low13s+ etc. What if ur sats are mediocre but ur sat2s are in the 700s is it worth sending?

The 50%-75% range at Bowdoin is fairly high, and the lower range is really for recruited athletes, etc. If you really want to get in, I would not send them unless they were near the top of the 75% range - like the low 1400s.

I second that. I'm sending mine in since I got a 1410, but you might be doing yourself a disservice by submitting SATs if they're low and they don't need to factor into the process in the first place. If you can submit just your SATIIs, which you've insinuated are higher, that could help. Good luck!

thanks, a few other questions-- Is it possible to get into Bowdoin w/out submitting SATS w/phenomenal ECs and Recommendations?

no clue. I'd say it's better to not submit any SATs than to submit low scores, but if you don't submit SATs, which I think they said about 25% choose, then I'm guessing that all other factors of your application have to be much stronger since they don't have that extra factor with which to assess your application. Then again, I'm just another applicant, so it's really just a conjecture.

People HAVE gotten in without submitting SATs. But note: AFTER you get iin you HAVE to submit them - they are used for placement. Good luck to you both!

thank you!

yes, there are people who get in without sending SATs - both of my roommates for example.

I think about 20% of the class did not submit SATs.
