SAT Optional?

Some of the schools to which I am applying do not require SAT I scores; this is for me a godsend. However, my SAT II scores are very strong and there is no way for one to send ONLY your SAT II scores, all of the scores are sent.

So I was curious if it would it be tacky if I slipped my scores into an essay? Wrote them down on the application? Cut out my SAT II scores from the mailed-home report Collegeboard sends and just stick it in the application somewhere?

Any help would be appreciated. I know it’s a tad unorthodox, but I am also a tad desperate. My hands are thus tied…

I think trying to send just the SATII scores as you mentioned would be a bad idea. First, sneaking the II's while not reporting the I's makes it pretty clear that the I's were bad. Second, I believe the reason some schools don't make you report SAT scores is that some very smart people are poor test takers and it doesn't really reflect their true intelligence. Having very high II's sort of seems(to me) to take away the "poor test taker" excuse. If you did so much better on the SAT IIs because you have a few particular strong points, a better option might be taking a couple AP tests and sending those scores.

Yes, upon graduation I will have taken 7 AP classes...

thanks for the advice. I will definitely heed it.

I dont think "taking a couple AP tests" are an option anymore. I'd say just ask the admissions officer. It has the slight scent of gaming the system.

I left a message and sent them an e-mail. I know this sounds crazy, but will they write down my name and save it for when they expect to receive my application and remember "Oh yeah this guy was trying to beat the system"....?
