SAT or ACT...easier?

firstly...my science and math is good...and i wonder if it is ture that ACT requires less vocab than SAT? ....and that means ACT is easier?

I got a 33 on my first ACT and a 1960 on my first SAT, and i'm definitely more math/science minded.

ACT seems to be easier overall (IMO). A low reading score isn't as killer.

It is not that simple. ACT is less tricky, but ACT requires much more speed. You have to try both. You may or may not do better on the ACT than the SAT. Most people end up in about the same percentile range on both tests. Your knowledge of science will not help much in the science reasoning section. It does not require any knowledge; you have to be able to get through a lot of text and graphs in a short time.

ACT does not have sentence completions, but a good voabulary still helps you understand the passages. If one does not understand some thing in the rading passage, it is usually related to an indequate vocabulary.

act is easier but the time limit they have on sections are killer

I would definitely try both (practice tests, that is) and then see which you like better. I personally would vote for SAT because I hate science, but SAT vocab sucks too. There are free practice tests on review.com for both of them if you haven't already tried them.

I think it would be much easier to prepare for the ACT. You already have the basic knowledge so you can spend time working on your speed.

With the SAT you have to build up a new way of looking at things and speed. If you can't think like the SAT wants you to, you're going to have a lot more things to study.

Personally, I prefer ACT. Some people say the math on it is harder, but I don't think that's true. I'm horrible at math and science, and I still managed to get a 30. The SAT is a lot more stressful with all that vocab... Although, yeah, the ACT has HORRIBLE time limits... you'll barely be comprehending what you're reading, just to make the limit. I vote ACT, anyway.

i also prefer the ACT. i did much better on the act than sat.

The ACT is all about speed. You need to be able to go through the questions pretty quickly. The SAT is more tricky. Take practice tests and see which you're more comfortable with.

SAT requires more reasoning skills and vocab than ACT. ACT just requires a lot of speed, and the questions are pretty mindless. I'm not very fast so i did significantly better on SAT, even though my vocab isn't all that great.

Act is more straightforward. Sat tricks you in all questions. They try to trap you. The ACT is harder to finish than the SAT. You can take both if you want, but it depends on where you live and where you want to apply to decide which one to take.
