<p>The reason I said to make a list of Colleges and keep the number to 20-25, because you will be editing it again eventually to 10-12 as you narrow down your preferences in terms of size, strength of program, location, cost, acceptance rate, diversity etc. So always better to start with a big list so that one has enough options by the time it is time to take a final decision.</p>
