I received my October SAT score, it wasn't pleasing to me (2000ish), I missed most English questions and I got a lot of points down on the reading and the writing MC sections. My essays are very good, and I'm really good at math and science, so, should I try to study for the ACT? Do you think I would score higher on the ACT since my strength is math and science? By the way, what kind of math and science questions would I need to answer? Lastly, how's the English portion of the ACT, I heard it's actually easier than the SAT.

I did bad on the English ACT section but I scored much higher on my act than sat. I also like math and science better so you should go for it. Just buy the red official act book and do the practice tests.

i got 2070 and I wasn't very happy. 650 cr and 26 act english. Act's easier, but I accidently set my watch to 60 min, so I didn't finish the english portion. However, I got 36 math compared to 740 sat math

Do you think ACT works better for private or UC's? I'm planning on majoring in engineering, so which one would actually look better?

I think they are both pretty equal. Just try the ACT because even if you screw up you don't have to send the score.
