I have taken the old SAT twice, with my highest score being an 1140. :(
However, I recently took the ACT and scored a 27. I am wondering whether I should take the new SAT in the fall or the ACT? I don't really want to take both.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Ha..i am in the opposite situation. I got a 1380 on the sat but a 25 on act!!! I don't think that i am even going to focus on the act now. And you shouldn't focus on your sat. Its always easier to bring up a score which is halfway decent than one that stinks. ( unless you are trying to bring up 700s)

I say go with the ACT. THe first act I ever took, I made a 27 on. A year and a half later I made a 32. I'm pretty sure you can pull it up to somewhere in the 30's if you try hard and have enough time to prep! GL

I vote ACT, but I've taken the new SAT once and the ACT once. No studying. SAT- 2160, ACT 34. 12's on both essays. Comparitively, the 34 is a lot better. I'm not submitting the SAT.

question: I took the ACT two times, the first time scoring a 34 and the second scoring a 35. I took the SAT once (without doing practice tests) and scored a 2140 (790 CR/670 M/680 W), which obviously is lower than my ACT. Should I send my SAT score with my ACT anyway? Or just the ACT? Should I retake the SAT again? (ew.)

I have to take the SAT IIs in the fall, and some of the colleges I want to go to "recommend the SAT I for placement".

Thanks. I was just wondering because I've heard that the New SAT is actually really different than the old one. If this was the case, I don't know if I should take it and see how I would do? But yeah, I am pretty confident I can get my ACT score up.
