does anyone know where i can find one that has the composite one? like what a 1200 SAT for blacks is... etc? collegeboard doesnt have it, lol...

Your percentile is how many people you did BETTER than. Meaning 3% have perfect scores, thus if you got 97%, you did better than 97%, but the same as the 3% with 800.

^Generic Name isn't the least bit surprised that Asians did well in Math, he's wondering how 800 is 97th percentile because he was mistaken--he thought that it meant 3% had above 800.

"azns are good at math"
In some poll I saw in the newspaper, 2 times as many students, percentage-wise, in taiwan said they worked really hard to do well in math as compared to american students. A senior in my ap cal class one time asked the teacher "Are asians just smarter than us?" or something to that effect. I was thinking, "WWHHAAAAAAAAAAAA?!!??!" Those kinds of overly broad generalizations are not only unbelievable but also unwarranted. From the cnn special on education, some northern African american students simply accept that whites are implicitly better and smarter than them and use that as an excuse to explain their, on average, lower grades. I think working hard is part of asian culture and math is one of those subjects that hard work can show much difference in, which may be why they excel.

Okay, I see.
Some tests do their percentiles by including people who did as well as you along with the people who you did better than.

I believe that what quantum leap is saying is true. I know that Asians are not always smarter than other people, but they often work hard. I know a lot of white kids at my school who are really smart, but don't work hard. Perhaps because Asians parents push their kids to do more... Nuture vs. Nature, eh?
